The track began during the 1880’s as the main stock route from Birdsville to Marree. It is a gateway to the ‘Corner Country’.
This track covers some beautiful yet rugged terrain, hard on vehicles and people combined.
The track closely follows the paths taken by Stuart and Giles exploring inland Australia during the 1800's.
Outback New South Wales is a doorway to the Australian Outback with history rich communities.
The Simpson Desert is a hazardous and remote location, yet attracts four wheel drivers and motorbike riders by the hundreds annually.
The track was actually named in 1845 by Charles Sturt and the area around Innamincka became famous due to the tragic events of the Burke and Wills Expedition.
